EMPOWERING YOUNG ADOLESCENT FEMALES

Adolescence is a transition period in which a child enters into adulthood while experiencing physical, mental and emotional changes. Although adolescence is a substantial step forward self-development, it is directly associated with several emotional and behavioral hardships.

YOUNG FEMALES – AWARE OF THEIR OWN STRENGTH AND OPEN TO EXPERIENCE

The project’s fundamental goal is to empower young adolescent females through self-development as an individual, self-expression in community, and help them acquire the relationship between culture and nature through sports activities, arts and group experience.

CAMPING

The program aims to show the choice of campsite, tenting, the use of sleeping bag and other principles in living in nature.

EXPLORATION DIVE

Experiencing the underwater life and diving under direct supervision of trainers.

CYCLING WORKSHOP

Improving cycling skills and teaching cycling if needed.

HIGH TRACK

Playing nature sports games in the track installed among the forest.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

Presentation of 3 training modules aimed at supporting personal development process.

HIKING

Hiking from the campsite to the “Sleeping Giant” observation track through Lycia Way and stargazing at night.

ORIENTEERING

Using compass with games for orienteering aimed at improving mathematical and visual intelligence

HORSE-RIDING

Learning the importance of respect to all creatures and experiencing horse-riding.

MORNING SPORTS

Start the day with early morning yoga, Pilates or cross running and stretching.

THE OPEN SEA SWIMMING

Learning/improving swimming skills in the bays of Kaş with Dreams Academy boat.

ARTS WORKSHOP

Painting/drawing and creating objects through collective work accompanied by arts trainer.

DANCE WORKSHOP

Preparing a dance show for the last night performance after practicing in 3 dance workshops through the week.

SAILING EXPERIENCE

Introduction to sailing, experiencing navigation in pairs.

ECOLOGICAL LIFE WORKSHOP

Acquiring skills and preparing a project in sustainability, recycling, consumption and water sources.

SELF DEFENSE SPORTS WORKSHOP

Introduction to self defense sports, which includes physical struggle and practice accompanied by experts.

RHYTHM

Percussion practices aimed at improving sense of rhythm.

PRODUCTION

Participants are encouraged to use/present their manipulative skills and produce while resting among intense sports activities.

SOCIAL IMPACT

From 2015 to 2017, Girls Without Barriers has switched from activity-driven perspective to impact-driven perspective. With this change of perspective, the Project has revised its activities and examined the impacts of these activities restructured based on its objectives. Girls Without Barriers hopes to become a case study, which demonstrates the importance of impact-driven thinking in civil society by intensifying its Social Impact Measurement studies.
